I'm a teacher, researcher and educational designer, and I speak Spanish, English and French. I did my undergraduate degree at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de Colombia and my master's at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, and ever since, my path has been tied to language teaching: I've worked as an academic coordinator of English and, today, I'm a registered teacher in Australia (VIT/AITSL) and an exam coach certified directly by IDP, Pearson and Paragon, the creators of PTE, CELPIP and IELTS.Soy profesora, investigadora y diseñadora educativa, y hablo español, inglés y francés.
But before the degrees and certifications, there's my story as a migrant, which is the reason Bilingualearn exists. Like many of you, I went through student visas, the COVID visa, VET courses, and I even obtained residency in Canada. It was a long road, made of exams, paperwork and starting over again and again. And along that road, Australia was the country that captivated me: here I decided to stay, and here the idea was born to help other Latino migrants avoid getting lost in the same maze I went through.
I know, first-hand, that the international English exam is often the stone in the shoe that separates a qualified professional from the life they came to build in Australia. That's why I created Bilingualearn: so that exam stops being an obstacle and becomes the step that finally lets you practise your profession, get your residency, or reach the goal that brought you here. I don't just teach exam strategies.
